Helping people make a Fresh Start with training course
from debt charity, Christians Against Poverty.
CAP UK approached us to produce three 2D character animations as part of their Fresh Start training. The workshops run across the country, helping people to tackle low-level addictions. Each animation helps people address the bad habits that affect their lives.
During the sessions, each film aims to start conversations about negative behaviour patterns. CAP’s team created a first draft of the voiceover script and narrative for the films. Together, we then edited and tweaked to make sure this translated across to the animations.
We developed and illustrated the characters, based on the Fresh Start brand and the tone of the script. The characters have a softer style compared to the printed material for the course, suiting the emotive tone of the films. While the messaging tackles difficult subject matters, it was important that the stories didn’t feel dark.
During creative development, we produced a set of abstract shapes and colours, each representing different emotions. This clearly signposted how the characters felt and reacted during the stories. Take a look at more of our work with charities.
It was a joy to work with Little Motel. Their process and communication was clear, they met our tight deadline, all whilst maintaining adaptability, professionalism and creativity which resulted in the animation that we needed for our course to be effective. We’ve had positive feedback from course members and coaches alike!
