A recipe for success,
Unipol Student Homes’ codes and values explained.
Leeds-based charity Unipol Student Homes asked us to create a series of films to explain their work to students and landlords alike. Each animation plays on a huge video wall in Unipol’s Housing Hub, as well as on their social media.
The films were Unipol’s first time commissioning an animation. So we worked closely with them to develop the style, along with colours to suit the video wall. Because there would be no sound in the films, we embedded text into the environment and objects within each scene to tell Unipol’s story.
We had a ball visualising the recipe for Unipol Values, using overhead camera angles, similar to online cooking videos. It was great to explore grating, blending, and mixing the script together. We also limited the designs to two or three colours so the text was easy to read from a distance and the messaging wasn’t lost in the design. We’ve since worked with Unipol’s team on a new animation about signing contracts.
